Here we hear from Izzy Weall, the inspirational youtuber and trampolining champion who hopes to try out a race car with us in the next few months, after she spends some time in a special adapted simulator. She’s been very busy!

The past few months have been so busy! At the start of the year I was on Good Morning Britain which was an amazing experience and my first time on live TV. Then I went to London again for The One Show, where I met Darcey Bussell. Darcey was so lovely and got me and my family tickets to see the Strictly Live tour and backstage passes where I met all the other judges and some of the dancers including Jonnie Peacock.

I was really lucky to get tickets for Dancing on Ice and recently went to watch it live. It was great seeing Kem again and being able to thank him for making my experience at the Pride of Sport Award so memorable as well as how grateful I was for the actual Dancing on Ice tickets. It was such an incredible show and Camila Cabello actually performed live which was amazing. She is incredibly talented.

I also recently attended the Autosport show at the NEC which was amazing seeing all the cars. Here we met the British Women’s Race Driving Club and Dare 2 Be Different.

I’ve done some filming for UniLad and some other companies about my trampolining, my YouTube and my start to race driving. As well, I got my seat fitted for my driving, which will be starting soon on the simulator. It was really exciting getting it all measured and talking about the future.

I have recently been to Dorset Orthopaedics’ and got fitted for my prosthetic arms which was so exciting because it’s the first official step to being able to drive. However, I haven’t worn prosthetic arms in so long It will definitely take a while to get used to. I’ve also started some physio to build up the strength in my body to make sure I am as physically fit as possible which is going to be very hard work.

Last weekend I attended the BSGA National Trampoline Finals in Belfast. I had qualified at the British Schools competition, scoring my highest score to date which I was really ecstatic about. It was really special to be there this year as I qualified last year and couldn’t make. It was the final competition of the season and I won with a good score. I am now working hard to try and get a somersault in my routine for next season.

I have had a Youtube channel for just under a year now and I post a variety of films showing how I do things as a quadruple amputee. Over the last few weeks my subscribers have grown massively with a lot of new followers from America. I now have over 24,000 subscribers which is really exciting. I can’t wait to show them my Team Brit story.

Within the next few weeks the Vesaro Simulator is going to be delivered to my house. This is really exciting because it means we can begin working on the logistics of driving and fitting my prosthetic arms to the driving set up. We already have various filming requests of me and the simulator in action so that should be really fun. We are looking for a racing driver instructor who will be able to give me advice and tips on my driving. Very exciting times ahead!
